ABOVE Battered by wind and rain. Recovered from beneath its tree, this bloom looks worn but beautiful brought inside onto a glass topped table. Four and a half to five inches of rain on Sunday brought low a lot of other things in its wake.

ABOVE AND BELOW Racing streams. The narrow stream at the edge of the property became not so narrow and inundated a lot of green plants normally existing out in the sun.

ABOVE On Monday. A cardinal recovers from all the rain, washes itself off in the stream, and hides amidst the bushes.

ABOVE AND BELOW Blooms around the house. Two small plants, one pink, one blue, survived the cutting of the grass. One plant blooms from the safety of a garden bed.

ABOVE Lemon. Ripening on the young tree at the back corner of the house.

ABOVE Rain-covered. From the garden bed.
