ABOVE Charlie looks up. From behind the lavender, coated with snow. The snow had only just begun falling an hour earlier. The sun was shining and melted all of the snow within the next hour. Three hours after that, huge flakes began to fall again and I had to dust my car off for the second time of the day when leaving work.

Burglar busts Old Bag
Restaurant column | Dispatch

Old Bag of Nails, 18 N. Nelson Rd., had to close on Super Bowl Sunday. A burglar, apparently one with a heavy sledgehammer, punched a 5-foot hole through a rear brick wall. Owner Mike Purdum said the only thing missing was 100 pounds of frozen cod — two 50-pound boxes. Building damage, he said, was about $1,000.

100 pounds of cod?
